Privacy of Personal information is a top priority for Renewed Perspectives Registered Psychotherapy (referred to as RPRP). The privacy policy describes how RPRP collects, discloses, and uses your personal information. We aim to collect, use and disclose information to only the extent required to provide the goods and services of the business.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
Personal Information is information that could be used to identify someone. Examples of personal information are age, gender, income, home address, phone number, ethnic background, and health information. Personal information does not include information that applies to someone’s business/professional information. Which is information typically found on a business card (name, role, business address, business phone number).
INFORMATION OBTAINED REGARDING CLIENTS
Renewed Perspectives Registered Psychotherapy collects and uses personal information for the purpose for which it was collected. We are regulated professionals and must obtain and store personal information to serve our clients. It would be rare to collect the personal information of someone without their expressed consent (implied, verbal or written); however, this may occur.
INFORMATION OBTAINED REGARDING THE GENERAL PUBLIC
General public information is not typically stored; however, Renewed Perspectives Registered Psychotherapy may obtain personal information to notify of events such as workshops/seminars and to spread awareness of services or information about RPRP. We try to gain consent and use business/professional information when available; however, at times, we may gather personal information. Upon request, written or verbal, the personal information will be removed. We may collect your personal information when you use our software (book a consult or complete the intake form), when you interact with the therapist regarding questions about RPRP, and when you visit or interact with the website. By utilizing the forms, reaching out via email, or interacting with us (via the website, email, phone call) you provide implied consent for us to collect your personal information.
HOW DOES THE COMPANY PROTECT PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Your personal information is stored within secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of people who have been designated with such authority and only to the extent necessary to carry out their objective. European Privacy Policy does not apply to RPRP. Please note RPRP is not liable to you for any damages resulting in unauthorized access of Personal Information as long as reasonable precautions have been met. RPRP uses standard security procedures and practices. For example, RPRP destroys paper copies of information via shredding. Electronic information is held on secure systems and is password protected, including information on cell phones.
CONTRACTED PROFESSIONALS/THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS
By receiving services through RPRP, you consent to the company using Contracted Professionals and third-party service providers to assist in delivering services. Contracted professionals may also be subject to PHIPA and may use personal information to deliver services to RPRP. An example of a contracted professional is a Clinical Supervisor. An example of a third-party service provider is Jane, or a website host.
ACCESS, CORRECTION, OR OTHER REQUESTS
RPRP in its sole discretion, reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy. When changes are made, the new Privacy Policy will contain the date on which it was last updated. You have the right to request access to the Personal Health information collected about yourself. Clients may request this via written request to the owner via email. If you believe there is a mistake/error regarding your personal health information, you have the right to request it be corrected. You can do so by providing a written request to the owner. If you are not satisfied with our services, we encourage you to come to us with your concerns. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your concerns you can discuss them with our regulatory body. The College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) sets forth the rules for and considers the complaints about registrants within the public interest. COOKIES
Our website may employ the use of “cookies”. A “cookie” is a small line of data that is sent to your Internet browser from a web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive.
